My name is Mike Cruz: photographer, father, animal lover and all round nice guy!

I have been married for 28 years and coming upon our 29th year in March 2012. I married my childhood sweetheart and we have one daughter who is currently attending USML School of Nursing. I can’t wait for her to graduate and be an RN in August 2012!

Both my wife and I are animal lovers and have two dogs, Zoeie (Long Hair Chihuahua/Yorkie mix) and Lindy (Lab mix), some cats and occasionally we have the Granddog, Lady Jane (Beagle) come over and stay with us. Lindy is a rescue dog we adopted from Hope Rescues. She is the sweetest and most loving dog that we’ve ever owned.

Speaking of Hope Rescues, occasionally I will volunteer my time capturing their events and donate the images to them for their marketing use. Look out for the Alton Dog Park to be a reality soon!

I have been a professional photographer for the last five years, concentrating on wedding photography. Not to say I don’t love other types of photography, which I DO, but it’s the thrill and the excitement of a wedding day that fuels my passion for photography.

Recently one of my photographs placed second in the Edwardsville Public Library Photo Contest. I was quite proud of that accomplishment.
